Outdoor Photo Shoot – Field of Gold

Sometimes everything falls into place and you get that ‘money shot’. Mostly, photographers plan their Outdoor Photo Shoot – location, time of day, season and clothing choices for the family.

This Outdoor Photo shoot was only partially planned and a bit of luck. I knew I wanted to take photos of my daughter in the Rapeseed fields and I knew that it had to be golden hour (the last hour or so of light in the day). I had a clothing choice in mind (something to compliment the yellow flowers and outdoor setting), however, after waking up from a nap in the car, there was no chance that I was going to get Taylor into the dress I wanted. Luckily, she was wearing a blue top, which complimented the setting.

Once we were out the car and amongst the fields, my child went wild. Running in all directions liked she’d been caged for months. Perhaps that is the way Taylor interprets Lockdown? Who knows! But she ran and laughed and loved it. Chances of getting her to look at the camera and smile? Very slim, but patience is one of my strong points and I managed to get photos of my daughter’s personality. I couldn’t ask for anything more than photos of the way I see my daughter everyday – cheeky, nature-loving, happy and care-free.

Photos don’t always have to have everyone smiling and looking at the camera to capture your heart. If they are of the person you love who is doing something they love and happy, that will be one to cherish. Capturing personalities is one of the best selling photos in the studio. Parents always love them.

Here are some photos of my youngest child, Taylor, and her personality captured during her Outdoor Photo Shoot :-
